Recovery Centers America (RCA) has opened a new opioid treatment clinic in western New Jersey, according to Biospace. Bravo Healthcare Clinic opened in Somerdale on Aug. 13 and will give medically-assisted treatments (MATs) to its local community. This clinic will provide standalone MATs, just like RCA’s clinic in Trenton.
Because 52 million prescribed opioids have flooded the region, some hope that the Bravo clinic can slow the opioid crisis’s harms. The clinic’s medical director, Dr. Michael DeShields, says, “We are in the middle of an opioid epidemic, and MAT is the most proven intervention and treatment in opiate abuse.” MATs such as methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone are key to RCA’s planned opioid response in the state. The new Bravo clinic has opened in Somerdale to be a convenient medical resource for opioid-addicted patients in the area. In addition to MATs, it offers both detox services and addiction treatment for pregnant women.
