New Jersey Opioid Hotline

Addiction Professional reports that a New Jersey hotline which connects callers to opioid treatment resources reached 15,000 calls in late May 2019. NJ Connect for Recovery, a confidential hotline at 855-652-3737, was established by the Mental Health Association in 2015 as a way to help those suffering from opioid addiction in the state. The service is designed to assist both those suffering from addiction and their family and friends. It offers access to drug and alcohol counselors, to specialists who can recommend next steps based on callers’ circumstances, and to experts in questions of insurance or costs. One more support feature of NJ Connect for Recovery is ongoing support and coaching in follow-up calls to the center, as callers may call as often as they need to. The milestone of 15,000 calls demonstrates both the support offered by the hotline and the need for its services in New Jersey.
